Received another gift pack and already can tell this will be better, not necessarily great, but better than the last gift pack. At least the beers are from real breweries. The first is a Harpoon, which is a brewery I happen to like. This is Raspberry Hefeweizen UFO (UnFiltered Offering).
I like some of the flavored beers, not in a traditional sense, but just for a change of taste. I enjoyed this one with a nice subdued raspberry flavor which surely covered up some of the Hefeweizen distinctiveness. It’s a creative beer, I’ll give it that. Even though it’s a flavored beer it still keeps enough of the beeriness to keep you interested, at least for a little while. That being said, it’s not the best fruit flavored beer I ever drank and if you don’t like those types wouldn’t suggest looking too hard for it. I would rather suggest Harpoon IPA which is an excellent beer. I’ll give this UFO a 6.5! |

Tried a couple of beers with Frank B. the other night on the dock; awesome place to have a beer. One of them was Gavroche, a French Red Ale, as they call it. It was quite pleasant, a bit on the carbonated champagnish style. You can learn more about Gavroche, who was a character in “Les Misérables.”– here |
